Green Aventurine Ball by oasiaris Green Aventurine Ball by oasiaris
I bought this marble of green aventurine on a local market. It's wrapped in silver plated wire. It looks a bit like lace, I think.
I put it on a nice long ball chain. :D

EDIT: Sold to the wonderful ~Gothic-Phantom-Zero

i just stumbled on your comment...you can definitely buy wire at Michael's, as well as pliers and beads and anything else you'll need for jewellery making.

I have no idea. I'm from the Netherlands, so I've never been at Micheals. You could google it or just go there and see for yourself.

Green aventurine has such a pretty color, right?
My friend e-mailed me that she's going to ship the necklace today! It might take up to 1.5 months to ship to the US. If your item hasn't arrived after 1.5 months, please let me know!

Wow this is REALLY pretty! I think it would be more so if it was a different chain, I feel like the balled one doesn't match the lacy work.

But still, really pretty.

Really? What kind of chain would you use with this? It's a pretty long chain, rope necklace length.

It not so much the length, just the type. You're using a Bead necklace chain, I think it would be better if you used a Cable necklace chain, maybe one made to look a little older. :)

I see. I was going for a more modern look with this necklace, so I think I'll stick with this. But I'm thinking about trying something similar in copper, with a white stone. That would probably look better if it looked a little older. Thanks a lot for your feedback! I really like to hear your opinion on my work.

i agree with MayMay77 that another chain might look nice. i feel like the balls on this one don't really compliment the fine detail of the cage.
And i don't know why but ball chains always feel cheap to me (i know they aren't always but most cheap jewelry i seen has come on ball chains ^^; )
anyway just thought you might be interested to know someone else the same.
though i would probably prefer copper with a white stone like you said, i think that would look lovely.

I see, thanks for letting me know how you think! Do you think a snake chain would be better? Those do often seem more classy.

Wow, that is really awesome! I like that idea. Don't know if I could do it quite that nicely but I have a few "balls" of different stones that do not have drill holes of any king and I've been trying to "cage" them with zero success. You've done very well!!!! :D

Thank you very much! If you need help with your balls, just let me know! You could also try to do what I did with these earrings: [link]
Just tie some wires together at the bottom and let them go up from there. Then do whatever you like with the ends.

Thanks! I'll try and remember to ask fore help. I really am trying hard to learn some of the wire techniques I've seen here on DA and in the group. :D As of yet, not been very successful. But I have so many ideas in my head, just can't make them happen when I try! LOL
