Yusora by oasiaris Yusora by oasiaris
Yusora is japanese for 'Night Sky'.
This is a golden venture swan made from 606 units (about 19 pages of A4 paper).
I made it as a project for my art classes. I spent a lot of French, English, math and chemistry lessons folding the units for this one :D
Yusora is my own design.

I remember living in Chile for sometime and artisans there would make stuff like this. I've always been impressed by it. Awesome work.

It's not that hard to figure out once you master the origami technique involved :)

It's a lot different from your origami crane, but it isn't much harder to make.
It just takes much more time.

Thanks! It's a treat for the zombies right :P
Anyways, it's actually my brain. I participated in an experiment where they looked at it :)
In the autumn I'm gonna start the master program in Cognitive Science which involves alot of neuroscience, so yes, i like it :D
You?

Wow, that's pretty cool!
I'm in my last year at high school, and I want to study either neurology or psychobiology, so yes, me to :D
With a bachelor in psychobiology it's possible to do a master in Cognitive Science, so what is it like?

Cognitive Science is all about a wide perspective; psychology, neurology, philosophy(of perception), linguistics(communication) and computer science(A.I.) are all fields necessary to understand the Human mind.
As for the master program where I study, it's quite focused on research, so I'll take courses in Brain Imaging Research Design and such. And personally continue to study about vision science, which my bachelor thesis is about.
Oh I could talk for ages but I'd probably bore you out :P I'm WAY too excited! :D

Thank you! Yes, this style of origami gives very nice results!
How do you make your boxes? It's not that hard to make origami boxes, and they often look very nice.

I ended up with to many creases. I'm just really bad at origami. When I studied in Tokyo during an exchange program we did origami and mine was so bad they were crying because they were laughing so hard. lol. Makes me want to go find a beginner basic pattern to try again.

You totally should!
Here are some instructions for a box that's very easy to make: [link]
I also like this one a lot, but you'll need 8 square pieces of paper to make one box: [link]

hehe. the first one is the type I tried. I can never get the lids to fit. I think I'm going to do some like this: [link] I should be able to handle that, right?
That second one looks crazy. lol

That one's cute!
You'll just have to make nice and clean cuts, so that it won't look messy.
The rest is pretty simple.
